Sheet Metal Worker – HVAC & Fabrication

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to manufacture and install high‑quality sheet‑metal components for HVAC and internal fittings across its secure sites in Glasgow. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, using hand and power tools, and delivering precise, safe installations as part of a skilled team.

Key responsibilities

• Cut, shape, and assemble sheet‑metal parts for ventilation systems and internal fittings.
• Interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate measurements and fits.
• Produce finished work that meets BAE Systems’ quality and safety standards.
• Identify and resolve manufacturing or installation issues on site.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe working environment and keep projects on schedule.

Required profile

• Modern Apprenticeship, Trade Papers, or SVQ/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in sheet‑metal work.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, marine or related engineering environments.
• Understanding of SHE and COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
