Sheet Metal Worker

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join its Glasgow site. The role involves manufacturing and installing high‑quality sheet‑metal components for HVAC systems and internal fittings across secure defence facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape and assemble sheet‑metal parts using hand and power tools according to engineering drawings.
• Fabricate and fit ventilation systems, furniture and other metal fittings to exact specifications.
• Identify and resolve manufacturing or installation issues to ensure correct fit and safety.
• Collaborate with a team of 6‑12 tradespeople to maintain a safe working environment and meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Modern Apprenticeship, Trade Papers, SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, marine or related engineering environments.
• Understanding of SHE and COSHH regulations and commitment to safe working practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of SHE and COSHH compliance.
