Shift Cover Maintenance Engineer (Part‑Time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a Shift Cover Maintenance Engineer to provide part‑time, temporary support at our manufacturing facility near Wrexham, serving the Chester/Deeside area. The role is ideal for engineers who want additional income through 8‑12 hour day or night shifts while contributing to a market‑leading production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance and proactive modifications to prevent recurring faults.
• Fault‑find using historic documentation and technical data.
• Collaborate with operational staff to ensure smooth hand‑over of maintenance tasks.
• Train operators to perform minor maintenance and assist with major repairs.
• Maintain high standards of machinery repair and continuous improvement of processes.

Required profile

• Completed a Timeserved engineering apprenticeship (preferred).
• Experience in FMCG or packaging manufacturing is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to plan and organise work efficiently.

Required skills

• 3 Phase Electrical Systems fault finding.
• Drives troubleshooting.
• I/O PLC fault finding.

• £30‑£40 per hour, paid hourly.
