Shift Engineer - Electrical & Mechanical

About the role

A prestigious contract is open for a Shift Engineer in London Bridge, working a days and nights continental pattern (07:00-19:00 / 19:00-07:00). The engineer carries out preventive, reactive and breakdown work on electrical and mechanical systems, keeping the site running without unplanned disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine PPM on all electrical and mechanical plant according to site schedules and asset lists.
• Complete reactive tasks across the building, including concessionary stores and fabric-related items, and proactively highlight areas for improvement.
• Remedy plant faults and defects quickly and keep suitable spares available, giving parts inventory and estimated timescales.
• Keep the computer-based maintenance system (e.g. Concept, Smart Hub) up to date and close PPM and reactive tickets with accurate data.
• Complete paperwork for reactive and breakdown works and pass it promptly to the contract administrator.
• Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for safe working.
• Keep plant rooms locked, clean and tidy.

Required profile

• Formal training in electrical or mechanical engineering to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3.
• Knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators and LV systems, including fault finding using graphical information and current alarm data.
