Shift Engineer – Leeds Production Site

About the role

We are looking for a versatile Shift Engineer to join our fast‑paced production site in Leeds. The role is hands‑on, site‑based and supports the reliable operation of a large‑scale facility handling high‑volume output.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on plant machinery, utilities and site equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults, including work with PLC systems, 3‑phase motors, boilers, bearings and pulleys.
• Perform routine daily, weekly and monthly checks and support planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Liaise with operational teams to minimise downtime and ensure smooth production flow.
• Follow health & safety procedures, COSHH regulations and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Attend breakdown call‑outs and contribute to engineering team training.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (electrical bias preferred).
• Experience in a fast‑paced production or manufacturing environment, ideally ex‑military.
• Strong mechanical background with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and high safety standards.

• Competitive salary up to £48,000 per year (DOE).
