Shift Leader – Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Shift Leader to join a commercial property maintenance team in Hammersmith, London. You will oversee both mechanical and electrical building services, ensuring reliable operation across day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Fault‑find and repair equipment such as power systems, generators, UPS, switchgear, emergency lighting, fire alarms, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, CRAC units, sprinkler systems, pumps and seals.
• Isolate plant safely, complete work orders via PDA or CAFM, and maintain logbooks, RAMS and maintenance reports.
• Allocate workloads, supervise the engineering team and specialist subcontractors.
• Attend client meetings, provide updates to the Account Manager and manage Permit to Work documentation.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Installations or Mechanical Engineering/Building Services (City & Guilds, NVQ, EAL or equivalent).
• Proven experience in commercial building services maintenance with a mechanical or electrical bias.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication, leadership and client‑facing skills.
