Shift Leader – Retail Operations

About the role

As a Shift Leader at One Stop you will oversee daily store operations, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for customers while supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of store management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the team to deliver an easy, safe shopping trip for the community.
• Open and close the store, manage duty cover and ensure all decisions prioritize customers, colleagues and safety.
• Act as the primary point of contact for colleagues when the Store Manager is absent, handling operational queries and resolving issues.
• Support seasonal, community and charity events, fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
• Maintain store cleanliness, tidiness and presentation standards.
• Prioritise product replenishment and ensure point‑of‑sale and shelf‑edge labels are accurate.
• Manage queues proactively and adjust service to meet customer needs.
• Schedule breaks, monitor staffing levels and arrange cover for short‑term absences.
• Serve as a recognised keyholder, responding to alarm call‑outs and ensuring store security.
• Communicate updates to the team and share ideas to simplify operations.
