Shift Leader – Retail (Richmond Express)

About the role

Join Tesco as a Shift Leader at the Richmond Express store and help deliver an exceptional shopping experience. You’ll work in a fast‑paced retail environment, coordinating a team to keep the store clean, well‑stocked, and welcoming for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead duty shifts, ensuring the store meets cleanliness, stock, and customer‑service standards.
• Support colleagues, coach performance, and provide feedback to improve service.
• Open and close the store, handling duty cover and safety decisions.
• Act as the go‑to person for day‑to‑day queries in the absence of a manager.
• Assist managers with seasonal, community, and charity events.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18.
• Reliable, customer‑focused attitude with a willingness to take ownership of shift duties.
• Ability to work the advertised availability windows and adapt to schedule changes.

Required skills

• Basic retail operations knowledge (stock handling, store presentation).
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.

What we offer

• Starting pay of £15.59 per hour, with additional location‑based payments.
