Shift Mechanical Technician

About the role

Lancashire Renewables is seeking a Shift Mechanical Technician to join the Maintenance team at its Thornton waste‑processing facility. The role involves maintaining mechanical assets, processing equipment and site infrastructure on a 24/7 shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on waste‑processing mechanical assets.
• Diagnose, repair and replace faulty components to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and use the centralised maintenance management system.
• Support shutdowns, upgrades and other plant improvement projects.
• Operate mobile plant equipment such as FLT, telehandler and MEWP when required.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental standards, including confined‑space and working‑at‑height procedures.

Required profile

• ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of preventative, predictive and lifecycle maintenance activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to undertake role‑specific training and any additional certifications required.
