Shipping & Logistics Specialist

About the role

As a Shipping & Logistics Specialist in the aviation sector, you will be based in Burgess Hill and take responsibility for the end‑to‑end movement of goods and materials. You will support the business in meeting delivery targets while ensuring compliance with international shipping standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate shipments to guarantee on‑time delivery to customers and partners.
• Track and manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including invoices and customs forms.
• Communicate with suppliers, carriers and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Resolve shipping delays or disruptions promptly.
• Monitor logistics costs and keep operations within budget.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and standards.
• Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to management.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, shipping or supply‑chain management.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation processes.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with logistics software and tools.

What we offer

• Hourly pay of £14 – £17, dependent on experience.
• Temporary (fixed‑term) contract providing flexibility.
