Short‑Term History Teacher – Secondary School (Girls)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic History Teacher to join a high‑achieving secondary school for girls on a short‑term, fixed‑term basis. The role starts in September 2026 (or sooner) and will cover Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes outstanding student progress.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student achievement.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Collaborate with Humanities colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching History at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
