Site Agent – Civils

About the role

Our client, a well‑established civil engineering firm in Glasgow, is looking for an experienced Site Agent to lead water and wastewater capital projects. The role involves overseeing large‑scale civil works, ensuring safety, quality and profitability while supporting the delivery of essential infrastructure across Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site teams on multi‑project portfolios, ensuring compliance with SHEQ policies.
• Conduct and supervise site safety audits and manage incident reporting.
• Control project costs, monitor budgets and escalate issues via the EWN system.
• Coordinate material procurement, labour planning and schedule subcontractor packages.
• Manage private land access, highway possessions and maintain positive community relations.

Required profile

• Civil engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Proven management experience within the construction industry.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
• Experience with health, safety, environment and quality (SHEQ) compliance.
• Ability to oversee cost control and procurement processes.
