Site Construction Manager – 18‑Month Contract (Outside IR35)

About the role

This 18‑month contract role is with a leading provider of decentralised energy solutions. You will take ownership of the construction phase of major energy infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all on‑site construction activities from mobilisation through to project completion.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, SHEQ requirements and company procedures.
• Monitor programme progress, resolve issues and keep projects on schedule.
• Inspect works against approved designs, Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Liaise with civil, mechanical and electrical design engineers to resolve design clashes.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant and resources for maximum efficiency.
• Manage temporary works safely and issue Permits to Work and Safe Systems of Work.
• Deliver daily site briefings, toolbox talks and regular safety audits.
• Maintain communication with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders.

Required profile

• ONC/OND, NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• SMSTS, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Valid CSCS Card and full UK driving licence.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering mechanical and/or electrical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, health & safety legislation and ISO quality standards.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi‑disciplinary construction projects.
• Excellent organisational, leadership and communication abilities.
