Site Engineer – Civil Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Site Engineer for a leading tier‑1 construction and infrastructure contractor operating across the South East of England. Based in Chandlers Ford, you will be the technical anchor on high‑value civil engineering schemes, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Establish accurate control points and set out complex works using EDMs, Total Stations and GPS equipment.
• Maintain comprehensive quality‑assurance records, manage RFI processes and resolve technical queries.
• Collaborate with the Sub Agent and Site Manager to supervise subcontractors and ensure works match design drawings and specifications.
• Promote a zero‑harm safety culture and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience on civil engineering or major infrastructure projects such as groundworks, heavy RC structures, drainage or highways.
• Valid CSCS card; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid are desirable.
• Full UK driving licence for regional site travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern EDM (Electronic Distance Measurement) equipment.
• Use of Total Stations and GPS surveying tools.
• Experience with robotic surveying equipment.
• Competence in AutoCAD for drawing review and modification.
