Site Engineer - Gatwick

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major airside infrastructure project at Gatwick Airport. The position runs until at least March 2027 and involves delivering works within a live airport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set out and survey airside civil engineering works using GPS, Total Station and other surveying equipment.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
• Manage QA documentation and engineering records.
• Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and report site activities.
• Resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
• Promote high standards of health, safety and quality.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, rail or aviation projects.
• Proven setting‑out experience using GPS, Total Station and surveying equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Strong understanding of QA processes, inspections and engineering documentation.
• Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards within construction environments.
