Site Engineer – Royal Navy Redevelopment Project

About the role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join the KierBAM Joint Venture team at the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. The role involves delivering a high‑profile redevelopment project for the Royal Navy, ensuring technical compliance, safety and quality throughout the construction phase.

Key responsibilities

• Set out works to precise specifications and verify that construction meets required tolerances and quality standards.
• Support quality assurance processes, including preparing as‑built drawings, conducting inspections and maintaining comprehensive project records.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve technical challenges and provide engineering support for smooth project delivery.
• Assist with site safety, environmental and quality inspections to uphold high standards.
• Record and test workmanship and materials such as drainage, concrete and structural elements.

Required profile

• Experience with reinforced concrete structures and system formwork, and proficiency in using Leica survey equipment.
• Holding or working towards a civil engineering degree (or equivalent) and progressing towards chartership.
• Comfortable with quality management systems, risk assessments and method statements.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities, able to work collaboratively within a team.
• Relevant certifications such as a CSCS White AQP card and Supervisor HSE test, with flexibility to work occasional weekends.
