Site Manager – Carpentry Focus (6‑8 week contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Site Manager with a strong carpentry background to lead the fit‑out and refurbishment of small industrial units in Birmingham on a short‑term basis. The role starts immediately and runs for 6‑8 weeks, offering a fast‑paced environment where you’ll lead from the front and ensure high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations across multiple small industrial unit projects.
• Schedule, direct and coordinate subcontractors and trade teams to meet project milestones.
• Inspect timber framing, joinery, paneling and door sets, applying carpentry expertise to guarantee quality.
• Maintain health and safety standards, lead daily toolbox talks and manage RAMS documentation.
• Serve as the primary contact for the main contractor, client representatives and trade teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager with a solid carpentry/joinery background (essential).
• Previous work on commercial or industrial unit fit‑outs/refurbishments.
• Valid CSCS Card, SMSTS certification and First Aid at Work qualification.
• Strong leadership, practical problem‑solving abilities and a keen eye for quality.
• Based within a reasonable commuting distance to Birmingham.
