Site Manager – Fire Risk Assessment & Refurbishment (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a safety‑focused Site Manager to lead fire risk assessment (FRA) and planned refurbishment works across an occupied social housing portfolio in Portsmouth. This temporary position requires you to coordinate daily site activities, manage subcontractors and ensure minimal disruption for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily delivery of FRA works and internal/external refurbishments in occupied units and communal areas.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor performance against specifications, timelines and quality standards.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental regulations, conduct regular site checks and maintain required documentation.
• Liaise with residents to keep them informed of works and minimise disruption.
• Carry out inspections, manage defect rectifications and ensure compliant handovers.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing FRA or refurbishment programmes within a social housing environment.
• Strong ability to manage subcontractors and communicate effectively with tenants.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
