Site Manager - Groundworks Project

About the role

You will join a well‑established groundworks contractor operating across the North West, leading the day‑to‑day delivery of a large new‑build project in Lancaster. The position is based on‑site, overseeing groundworks and deep drainage works within a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all site activities related to groundworks and deep drainage.
• Supervise site teams, subcontractors and plant operators.
• Ensure strict compliance with health & safety procedures, especially in a secure setting.
• Drive programme delivery and meet key milestones.
• Conduct toolbox talks, inductions and regular site meetings.
• Monitor quality against project specifications.
• Report progress and liaise with senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager in groundworks and deep drainage.
• Experience using an iPad or similar device for on‑site job logging.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• Strong background delivering drainage schemes, foundations and related civil packages.
• Good knowledge of health & safety regulations.
• Leadership, organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced environment.
