Site Manager

About the role

Biogen is seeking a proactive Site Manager to lead the overall operation of its anaerobic digestion (AD) plant in Hoddesdon. You will be accountable for maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards while driving cost‑effective, efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Oversee digestate stock levels, feedstock intake, sorting and loading.
• Manage planned site maintenance and preventive maintenance programmes.
• Control budgets, monitor costs and report plant performance to senior leadership.
• Lead recruitment, staff appraisals, training and development for all site personnel.
• Handle change control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in people management within an industrial setting.
• Strong background in process, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving high health‑and‑safety standards.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work flexibly, including weekends and on‑call rota.
• Full UK driving licence.
