Site Manager – Water & Wastewater Projects

About the role

Costain is delivering a portfolio of water and wastewater projects across the Midlands for Severn Trent Water. As a Site Manager you will be responsible for overseeing construction and commissioning activities on sites ranging from £5m to £100m, ensuring safe, on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate sub‑contractor activities and chair regular coordination meetings.
• Ensure project documentation is complete for handover and issue Non‑Conformance Reports when required.
• Study drawings and technical documents, raise queries to resolve conflicts.
• Maintain overall compliance with health & safety legislation, company policy and best practice, updating the Site Risk Register.
• Manage inductions, toolbox talks, H&S and site progress meetings.
• Oversee site rules, emergency procedures and the issuance of permits.
• Ensure accurate signing of site hazards and detailed programming of site activities with sub‑contractors and the Solution Manager.

Required profile

• Recognised engineering or site‑management qualifications.
• CSCS Managers Card.
• Minimum SMSTS certification.
• Health, Safety and Environmental Management qualification (IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Appointed Person Lifting and Mechanical qualifications.
• Desirable: Degree in Civil Engineering and experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator (CITB).
