Site Operative

About the role

We are looking for a Site Operative to deliver an efficient recycling service at our Newbury and Padworth Household Waste Recycling Centres. You will interact with the public, operate equipment and help keep the site clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide an effective recycling service to residents at the Newbury and Padworth sites.
• Assist members of the public with waste and recycling disposal and operate the weighbridge system.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility and clean any spillages before the end of the shift.
• Perform manual handling tasks and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Support other operational areas as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑facing operational environment.
• Ability to carry out manual handling safely.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

What we offer

• £13.47 per hour plus overtime.
• Full‑time schedule – 47.5 hours per week on a 7‑week rolling rota (08:00‑18:00), including weekends and bank holidays.
