Site Supervisor

About the role

The Site Supervisor will take ownership of the carpentry package on a high‑quality residential conversion project that includes a ground‑floor commercial unit on the outskirts of Cambridge. Reporting to the project manager, you will be responsible for delivering safe, on‑time and high‑standard carpentry works throughout the construction phase.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the carpentry package from first fix to final finishes, ensuring safety, programme adherence and quality.
• Coordinate carpentry subcontractors and interfacing trades to maintain efficient sequencing and minimise disruption.
• Inspect works continuously, verifying compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and resolve on‑site carpentry issues, escalating when necessary to keep progress on track.
• Monitor progress against the programme, proactively addressing delays and ensuring key milestones are met.
• Maintain high health and safety standards, including inductions, toolbox talks and regular site inspections.
• Manage ordering, delivery, storage and installation of materials, fixings and joinery to avoid waste and delays.

Required profile

• Strong background in carpentry with proven site‑management experience.
• Confident in coordinating trades and driving quality delivery on live projects.
• SMSTS/SSSTS certification preferred (not essential).
• Valid CSCS card.
