Site Supervisor – School Facilities (Preston)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to manage the day‑to‑day operation of primary and secondary school sites in Preston. This interim position supports the smooth running of the campus by overseeing health and safety, security, cleaning, and routine maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise operational areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness, repair, and safety.
• Carry out legislative compliance checks such as fire alarm testing, legionella monitoring, and emergency lighting inspections.
• Act as keyholder, managing security procedures for buildings and grounds.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks, including window cleaning, corridor and floor buffing.
• Identify maintenance needs, carry out minor repairs, or coordinate external contractors.
• Maintain clear drains and gutters, and ensure litter‑free environments.
• Undertake routine compliance checks for boilers, water systems, and batteries.
• Prepare premises for events, setting up and removing furniture as required.

Required profile

• Relevant vocational qualification in site or facilities management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Good understanding of building maintenance and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with security systems and equipment.
• Flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
