Skilled Fabricator (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

Morson Edge is recruiting an experienced Skilled Fabricator for a 12‑month contract at GKN Aerospace's Filton site. You will work on high‑precision aerospace components, using a range of hand, electrical and pneumatic tools to shape and assemble metal parts to exact engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Shape, form, fit and assemble aluminium, stainless steel and titanium components to engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Operate hand tools, electrical tools, pneumatic tools, bending machinery, jigs and fixtures.
• Carry out fitting, swaging, measuring and general fabrication activities.
• Record progress and update manufacturing stages in SAP.
• Verify calibration status of measuring equipment before use.
• Identify and report any defects or non‑conformances to the Process Team Leader.
• Follow site health, safety, quality and housekeeping procedures.

Required profile

• Recognised apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in fabrication or sheet‑metal work.
• Proven experience reading technical drawings and working to tolerances.
• Previous fabrication or sheet‑metal experience, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Aerospace experience is advantageous.
• Qualification certificates must be provided with the CV.

What we offer

• Core working days Monday‑Thursday, 7:00 am‑4:15 pm with potential shift to a 7‑day fortnight.
• Pay of £19.40 per hour, with a possible increase to £24.25 per hour under a 7‑day fortnight arrangement.
