Skilled Paint Sprayer

About the role

We are seeking a Skilled Paint Sprayer to join our Paint Department at a world‑class defence organisation in Bolton. The role offers a rate of £30.38 per hour on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of long‑term continuation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out manufacturing tasks in the Paint Department following product certification procedures and defined workmanship standards.
• Prepare components (masking) and apply paint using spray equipment, ensuring compliance with budgets and timescales.
• Complete all paperwork linked to the manufacturing data pack and certify work to company quality standards.
• Maintain product certification through regular audits and uphold health, safety and housekeeping standards.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement and work collaboratively within the team.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Surface Finishing.
• Relevant engineering qualification such as ONC or HNC.
• Proven experience as a skilled paint sprayer, preferably in aerospace or defence.
• Ability to certify own work and maintain high quality standards.

Required skills

• Masking (pre‑painting preparation).
• Paint Spraying using industry‑standard equipment.
• Electrostatic discharge (ESD) training.
