Slinger / Rigger – Submarine Project (12‑month contract)

About the role

Join a specialist team supporting BAE Systems' latest generation of submarines at the Barrow shipyard. This 12‑month contract role involves rigging, lifting and confined‑space work on the Astute or Dreadnought projects, offering competitive rates for both local and commuting candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Work safely at all times, adhering to Health & Safety regulations and site‑specific guidelines.
• Interpret technical information to confirm customer requirements and prepare consumables, materials and components.
• Perform rigging and lifting operations, including the handling of loads and temporary protection solutions.
• Carry out cleaning, confined‑space entry and other support activities to company standards.
• Verify completed tasks to ensure they meet required specifications.

Required profile

• Experience in rigging, lifting or related shipyard activities.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces and at heights.
• Understanding of health and safety compliance on industrial sites.
• Willingness to travel up to 39 miles or more to the Barrow location.
