Small Claims Track/Fast Track Liability Lawyer

About the role

Keoghs LLP, a leading UK insurance law firm, is seeking a Small Claims Track/Fast Track Liability Lawyer to join its Property Risks and Coverage Team in Bolton. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of defended liability claims for top insurers, working both independently and collaboratively.

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing documents, preparing reports and handling disclosure
• Assessing witness and expert evidence, conducting investigations
• Instructing counsel and experts, drafting court documents and bundles
• Attending conferences, trials and ADR sessions, including mediation
• Negotiating settlements and preparing Part 36 offers
• Preparing pre‑action and interim applications, managing court appointments
• Ensuring compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations

Required profile

• Previous litigation experience in insurance or property liability claims
• Degree‑level education (preferably Law) or postgraduate qualification
• Ability to prioritise workload, pay attention to detail and work under fast‑pace litigation pressure
• Experience with case management systems and recording time/profitability
• Strong critical‑thinking and time‑management skills
