Smart Meter Customer Service – Metering Data Operative

About the role

This position is part of a growing utilities business in Bury, supporting the smart‑meter rollout and data management. You will work within the Metering Team, handling installations, exchanges, removals and data queries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all meter installations, exchanges and removals.
• Source meter details, update relevant systems and ensure appointment accuracy.
• Resolve issues arising from incorrect meter data promptly.
• Handle industry meter‑reading rejections and remediate them.
• Liaise with customers, metering partners, reading agencies, gas suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries.
• Support the smart‑meter rollout strategy and ensure timely submission of meter readings to the industry.
