Social Inclusion Support Worker

About the role

CISWO is creating a social inclusion outreach service for former miners, their families and communities affected by the coal‑mining industry. The Social Inclusion Support Worker will work with the Service Co‑ordinator to design, develop and deliver community‑based activities that improve physical and mental wellbeing and reduce isolation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging outreach activities that meet the physical, cognitive and emotional needs of service users.
• Create a safe, welcoming environment, including serving meals and refreshments.
• Identify and report safeguarding concerns immediately to the Service Co‑ordinator.
• Support the development of an inclusive, accessible activity programme across multiple community locations.
• Maintain accurate administrative records for monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
• Handle contactless payments or cash and keep appropriate transaction records.
• Assist with logistics such as venues, catering, staffing and equipment for mobile service delivery.
• Promote the outreach service to potential users and stakeholders through marketing and referral strategies.

Required profile

• Experience delivering outreach or community‑based activities in health, social care or third‑sector settings.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of issues affecting older people, disabled adults, socially isolated individuals and their carers.
• Understanding of safeguarding and health‑and‑safety requirements for vulnerable adults.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and a good standard of education (GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above).
