Social Sciences Teacher – Full-Time Long-Term Role

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Social Sciences Teacher to join a Good Ofsted‑rated secondary school in Cambridgeshire on a full‑time, long‑term basis starting September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to explore society, human behaviour, and related disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality lessons in Psychology, Sociology and related subjects across Key Stages 4 and 5.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress to help learners achieve their potential.
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and discussion.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and contribute to departmental development.
• Support student wellbeing and promote a culture of academic excellence.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Social Sciences subjects in a secondary school or sixth‑form setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the discipline.
• Effective classroom management and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for all students.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
