Social Worker – Adult Safeguarding (Temporary)

About the role
Leicestershire County Council is looking for a qualified Social Worker to join its Adult Safeguarding Team on a three‑month temporary contract. You will work primarily from home, attending weekly on‑site meetings, to provide short‑term safeguarding interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Apply safeguarding thresholds and assess immediate risk for adults.
- Conduct rapid enquiries (typically three working days) to determine the person’s outcomes.
- Carry out mental capacity assessments and, where needed, best‑interest decisions.
- Identify and involve relevant care partners in the enquiry.
- Facilitate strategy meetings or discussions with the service user and stakeholders.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker, fully registered with Social Work England.
- Significant post‑qualification experience in adult social care.
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
- Proven expertise in safeguarding and risk management.

- Hourly rate of £34 (umbrella).
