Social Worker – Children Safeguarding & Family Support (CIC)

About the role

Join a dedicated team delivering children’s safeguarding and family support services across the South West. As a Social Worker (CIC), you will manage a caseload of children and families, providing assessments, care plans and safeguarding interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and families, undertaking assessments and developing effective care and support plans.
• Lead on complex cases, making informed decisions around safeguarding, risk management, and child protection.
• Prepare high‑quality reports and provide evidence in court proceedings when required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, families, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary and independent services to implement care plans and support family interventions.
• Carry out timely, evidence‑based assessments, reviewing progress and adjusting plans as needed.
• Undertake preventative and early‑intervention work to reduce the need for children entering care.

Required profile

• Enhanced DBS clearance including the Children’s Barred List.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and make sound safeguarding decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and court testimony.
• Experience working collaboratively with multi‑agency partners.
