Social Worker – Children We Care For (CWCF)

About the role
Oxfordshire County Council is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children We Care For (CWCF) service. You will support children and young people in care, helping them achieve stable, high‑quality outcomes across fostering, adoption, kinship and independence pathways.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of looked‑after children and care leavers.
- Undertake care planning, assessments and statutory visits.
- Develop and review Care Plans and Pathway Plans.
- Support children in achieving permanency outcomes such as adoption, fostering or reunification.
- Promote the voice of the child in all planning and decision‑making.
- Work closely with carers, families and partner agencies.
- Monitor and support health, education and wellbeing outcomes.
- Prepare reports for reviews, meetings and court proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with the Children Act and statutory guidance.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in Children’s Social Care or Looked‑After Children teams.
- Strong knowledge of care planning, safeguarding and permanency planning.
- Ability to produce high‑quality assessments and reports.
- Effective communication and multi‑agency working skills.
- Strong risk assessment and decision‑making abilities.
