Social Worker – Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

About the role

This temporary position supports Gloucestershire County Council’s Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Gloucester. You will work on screening and triage of child protection referrals, helping the hub decide the most appropriate course of action.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake rapid screening and triage of child protection cases.
• Collaborate with partner agencies within the hub at Shire Hall.
• Work to tight timescales while adhering to MASH protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to decision‑making processes.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker, fully registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in a local authority setting.
• Experience of frontline social work and familiarity with MASH environments.
• Strong understanding of thresholds for intervention and an inquisitive approach to case assessment.

• £35 per hour rate for a six‑month fixed‑term contract.
• Hybrid working model – three days per week on‑site at Shire Hall.
• £250 joining bonus for new starters.
