Social Worker – Support & Protect Team

About the role

Join the Support and Protect Team as a Social Worker, delivering vital safeguarding and family support services across North West England. This hybrid, full‑time position offers a competitive rate of £45 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the needs, risks and strengths of individuals and families to design appropriate care plans.
• Provide emotional support, counselling and guidance for issues such as abuse, neglect, mental health challenges and family breakdown.
• Facilitate access to health, housing, education and financial services.
• Advocate for clients with external agencies and organisations.
• Investigate safeguarding concerns and take protective action where required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including health workers, educators, law enforcement and community groups.
• Manage a caseload, conduct regular reviews and adjust care plans as needed.
• Respond to crises, coordinate emergency support and ensure client safety.
• Maintain accurate records in line with legal and organisational standards.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with experience in safeguarding, family support or child protection.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practice guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
