Softs Designer

About the role

The Softs Designer will join our in‑house design team to shape the womenswear softs and woven collections for each season. Working closely with the Head of Design, buying and supplier teams, you will translate runway trends into commercial, customer‑focused ranges.

Key responsibilities

• Develop seasonal collections and trend directions for the softs department.
• Source and develop fabrics each month to match product ranges.
• Forecast trends and produce catwalk analysis to guide range direction.
• Lead fit and seal sessions, ensuring technical accuracy.
• Innovate on best‑selling items to protect the commercial baseline.
• Collaborate with buying, senior leadership and suppliers to build balanced ranges and secure quality.
• Manage the critical path to meet design deadlines and oversee travel and booking stages.
• Plan and support seasonal shoot campaigns.

Required profile

• Proven experience in womenswear softs/woven design.
• Degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and professional accountability.
• Motivating personality with the ability to inspire and develop team members.
• Creative problem‑solving and the ability to think quickly.

Required skills

• Hand drawing.
• Adobe Photoshop.
• Adobe Illustrator.
• In‑depth knowledge of textiles, garment construction and fit.
