Softs Designer (Maternity Cover)

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Softs Designer to develop their career within a fast‑paced fashion environment. The role is a fixed‑term maternity cover, responsible for creating innovative, commercially viable ladieswear softs garments across multiple categories.

Key responsibilities

• Research current trends and translate them into commercially appealing softs designs for the wholesale market.
• Design across core softs categories including tops, dresses and coordinated sets.
• Create detailed CADs and tech packs using Adobe Illustrator.
• Develop seasonal colour palettes, fabric direction and trim details for various customer profiles.
• Liaise with the fabric sourcing team to select appropriate softs bases and finishes.
• Collaborate with in‑house print designers to produce bespoke graphics and prints.
• Partner with sales, account managers and other departments to support client meetings and range presentations.
• Oversee sample development, ensuring fit, construction and finish meet brand standards.
• Respond to customer briefs and adapt designs based on feedback.
• Stay informed on high‑street competitors and emerging softs wear trends.
