Software Developer Graduate

About the role

AVEVA is looking for enthusiastic Software Developer Graduates to join its R&D team in Cambridge. This hybrid role (three days onsite) offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge industrial automation and engineering software, leveraging AI and cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Make technical decisions and trade‑offs across scaling, reliability, performance and maintenance.
• Design, develop, test and debug software applications.
• Deliver software on time, provide accurate estimates and meet them.
• Offer technical support, including direct customer assistance and escalation handling.
• Document product behaviour and implementation details.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize development work and follow best‑practice processes.
• Review pull requests, engineering designs and features, and share feedback.
• Continuously expand knowledge of the technical domain.

Required profile

• Passion for creating software and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or a related field.
• Experience developing software products or applications.
• Sharp debugging skills and clear communication of complex ideas.
• Self‑motivated with good time‑management and a willingness to learn from feedback.
