Software Developer – PhD Graduate (Data Privacy)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Developer who has recently completed a PhD and is eager to tackle complex data‑privacy and cryptography challenges. You will work at the intersection of solutions architecture and product development, delivering implementations for high‑profile clients such as ING, JP Morgan and RBS. This role offers the chance to shape new tools that protect sensitive data and advance our privacy‑focused platform.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise Scala (Python) and SQL to extract, manipulate, and protect large datasets while ensuring data integrity.
• Apply cryptographic techniques to secure data and maintain compliance with industry privacy standards.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and client services teams to align data initiatives with business goals.
• Design, implement, and optimise machine‑learning and NLP models to enhance privacy‑focused product offerings.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, models and analytical methodologies.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with Python and SQL; familiarity with Scala is a plus.
• Strong desire to continuously learn new tools and programming languages.
• Passion for data science and translating concepts into practical products.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
