Software Engineer – Education Research Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain the technical infrastructure that underpins a range of education research projects. You will work closely with developers, researchers and other stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and reliable systems that support teacher development and educational data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications and research pipelines.
• Build secure, scalable and reliable systems using best‑practice DevOps processes.
• Shape platform architecture and improve system performance, monitoring and developer experience.
• Provide ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting and support for production environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate research requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior software engineer building and operating technical infrastructure.
• Ability to work effectively with developers, researchers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of security, scalability and reliability principles.
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (1‑3 days on‑site) in London or other UK offices.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
