Software Engineer II – Product (Multiple Roles)

About the role

Stora is a self‑storage software platform looking for a Software Engineer II to join its product team. You’ll work with a passionate group of Rubyists to enhance and expand the Rails‑based platform across billing, CRM, public APIs, reporting, integrations and internal tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain features, owning them from initial discussions through to deployment.
• Work closely with the product team and other stakeholders to shape and refine new features.
• Dedicate at least 20% of time to app maintenance, improving stability, performance and developer experience.
• Write and maintain automated tests to enable multiple daily deployments.
• Monitor, investigate and resolve production issues to keep the system stable as it scales.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to continuously grow your skills.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and shipping production Rails applications.
• Comfortable using modern LLM‑powered tools to accelerate development while knowing when to rely on personal expertise.
• Testing mindset with experience writing automated tests in Minitest or RSpec.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in a live environment.
• Ability to work independently on well‑defined projects while collaborating in a fast‑moving team.
• Clear communicator who can explain technical challenges and trade‑offs.
