Software Engineer – Middle/Back Office – Asset Manager (Contract)

About the role

An asset manager is modernising its risk, P&L and reporting platforms and needs a seasoned software engineer to drive enhancements across middle‑ and back‑office systems. You will work on multiple projects, delivering production‑grade solutions that support operations, risk, compliance and reporting functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise‑grade applications in Python and/or Java.
• Extend and optimise middle‑office and back‑office workflows for risk, P&L and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to translate financial requirements into technical specifications.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Integrate with cloud services (AWS, Snowflake) and data pipelines (Airflow, Glue).

Required profile

• 8+ years of commercial experience building production systems in Python and/or Java.
• Background in financial markets, preferably buy‑side asset management.
• Strong understanding of financial products, especially fixed income, and related operational, risk and compliance processes.
• Degree in a relevant technical discipline from a recognised university.
