Software Engineer (Remote, UK)

About the role

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is seeking a Software Engineer to help create digital learning experiences for young people and educators worldwide. The role is remote‑based with regular travel to Cambridge and offers the chance to work on high‑impact projects such as the Projects site, Code Club platform, Astro Pi and Coolest Projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain web‑based products and services that support learners, volunteers and teachers.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and fellow engineers in an agile environment.
• Write clean, secure, test‑driven code and contribute to code‑quality initiatives.
• Participate in technical analysis and architectural planning for new features.

Required profile

• Professional experience as a Software Engineer, preferably with a focus on web technologies.
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality software that makes a positive impact on education.

Required skills

• Web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs).
• Test‑driven development practices.
• Secure coding principles.
