About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a development team, own the roadmap and continue hands‑on coding. The role is based in Portsmouth with a hybrid working model – one day in the office and four days remote.
Key responsibilities
- Line‑manage and mentor software engineers, monitoring performance and productivity.
- Own development standards and ensure long‑term quality and delivery.
- Foster a collaborative environment where ideas and process improvements are encouraged.
- Report to the C‑suite and influence the direction of the engineering function.
Required profile
- Extensive experience managing software development teams.
- Proven track record of driving engineering performance and continuous improvement.
- Strong background in hands‑on software development.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage senior stakeholders.

What we offer
- Salary £90,000‑£100,000 per annum.
- Hybrid working – one day in the office, four days remote.
