Solar Project Manager

About the role

You will take full ownership of solar PV and battery storage projects from contract award through to commissioning, handover and close‑out, working across residential and commercial sites. The role combines project planning, on‑site delivery, budget management and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule every project stage, including resources, procurement, design sign‑off and approvals.
• Lead installation teams and subcontractors on‑site, running progress meetings and ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.
• Own project budgets, margins, cost control, forecasting, variations and valuations.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and DNOs, managing contracts and resolving issues.
• Report progress, risks and financial performance to the Head of Operations and senior leadership.

Required profile

• 3+ years in the solar PV and/or battery storage industry, with at least 2 years managing projects end‑to‑end.
• Proven track record delivering commercial‑scale projects safely, on time and within budget.
• In‑depth knowledge of G98/G99 DNO processes, MCS, BS 7671 and CDM 2015 health and safety requirements.
• Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting and protecting project margins.
• Experience leading installation teams, managing subcontractors and building client relationships.
