Solicitor – Contentious Probate (3-5 PQE)

About the role

Join a specialist Will Disputes and Contentious Probate team as a litigation solicitor. The position focuses exclusively on contentious probate work, handling a wide range of disputes arising from estates and trusts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a personal caseload of contentious probate matters.
• Handle claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act.
• Challenge the validity of wills and resolve executor/administrator disputes.
• Deal with estate administration issues, Court of Protection matters, and trust‑related litigation.
• Collaborate with colleagues on larger, complex cases across contentious and private client teams.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in civil litigation.
• Exposure to contentious probate work or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.
• Motivated solicitor seeking a long‑term career in contentious private client work.

Required skills

• Solid civil litigation experience.
• Knowledge of contentious probate law, including the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act.
• Familiarity with will challenges, executor/administrator disputes, Court of Protection, and trust litigation.
