Solicitor – Disease Team (Newly Qualified, Belfast)

About the role

We are seeking ambitious Newly Qualified solicitors (up to 2 years PQE) to join the Disease Team within a fast‑growing litigation practice at a leading Northern Ireland defence firm. The role offers hands‑on responsibility, structured development and the chance to build strong client relationships in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of litigated matters with appropriate supervision and mentoring.
• Support delivery of high‑quality service to key litigation clients, ensuring agreed service standards are met.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues, including attendance at client meetings.
• Contribute to raising the firm’s profile through knowledge‑sharing, training, articles or blogs.
• Assist with tender submissions, client pitches and the development of strategies to manage opponent behaviours.

Required profile

• Newly Qualified solicitor with up to 2 years PQE and experience of litigation, particularly defendant work.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
• Interest in business development, client engagement and contributing to wider team initiatives.

Required skills

• Experience of working with case management systems.
• Collaborative mindset and proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
