Sonar Training Instructor

About the role

Our client, a leading defence training organisation, is looking for a Sonar Training Instructor to join the Weapon Engineering Capability Training Unit at its Fareham site near Portsmouth. The role is permanent and focuses on delivering high‑quality training on modern sonar system maintenance to both internal and external personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training programmes covering the maintenance of sonar systems.
• Analyse performance data and feedback to continuously improve training content and delivery.
• Share best practices and standardise training processes across multiple locations.
• Monitor and report on KPIs and SLAs to ensure training objectives are met.
• Represent the training unit’s needs to delivery teams and support personalised learning pathways.

Required profile

• Proven experience working on or maintaining modern sonar systems.
• Level 4 teaching certificate or equivalent (internal enrolment possible).
• Background in military weapon‑engineering sensor systems or similar.
• Experience managing and maintaining weapon‑engineering sensor equipment.
