About the role

Join the culinary team at Rivermere Care Home in Sevenoaks, supporting the Head Chef to deliver nutritious, high‑quality meals for residents. You will help create balanced menus while maintaining strict food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in managing a kitchen team that provides balanced, high‑quality meals.
• Prepare modified diets that are appealing and comply with IDDSI guidelines.
• Supervise and direct culinary staff, offering instruction on simple food preparation.
• Ensure all food handling meets the highest hygiene standards.
• Support staff in understanding and applying Avery’s food safety management system.

Required profile

• Relevant catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year catering experience.
• Demonstrated compassion and commitment to high‑quality resident care.
• Flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
